BSc in Accounting
The BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance |degree is designed to provide
students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in any accounting and finance
position in business, government and social enterprises around the world. It is
positioned to meet accounting and finance needs of increasing industrialization
and development in Kurdistan. Bachelor of Science (Hons)
Accounting and Finance is consistent
with the University’s mission of educating and training young talents to become
the driving force for sustainable development, improving the standard of living
and leading intellectual life in the Kurdistan region and in Iraq in general.
In order to sustain, the increasing and expanding industrialization of Middle East,
it is necessary to train accountants that will occupy the driving force in
these International Corporate bodies.
The BSc in Accounting and Finance is a four-year
programme (480 credits). Each year is divided into two semesters, with normally
4-5 modules taught each semester (60 credits each semester). The second
semester of the third year is assigned for placement in work fields. The
student must obtain a grade of at least 50 percent in each module in order to
successfully pass the semester. In the final year students as required to write
a research thesis.
Assessment varies per module, but students will be
exposed to a range of assessments such as assignments, quizzes, mid-term exam,
and presentations to formal written examinations.
