Library Accessibility

During this time of COVID-19 although our physical library has restricted access, there are on-line options through your UKH Moodle account that might also be relevant and useful to you.

  • AAPG Datapages - The searchable archives of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) with content from over 40 publishers and societies.
    • Currently abstract only, we are in discussion with the supplier about improving provision
  • BBC Monitoring - BBC Monitoring tracks the globe the latest news reports emerging around the world as a searchable source of news
    • For access please use your university e-mail to send a request for a username and password to the Director of Library, [email protected]
  • EbscoHost Academic Search Premier  - this has nearly 4700 full-text journals
    • For access off-campus please use your university e-mail to send a request for a username and password to the Director of Library, [email protected]

·        Economist - an international weekly newspaper printed in magazine-format and published digitally that focuses on current affairs, international business, politics, and technology.

o   We are in discussion with the supplier about improving provision

·        JSTOR - provides access to more than 12 million academic journal articles, books and primary source objects across 75 disciplines -  open access

  • OnePetro - A unique library of technical documents and journal articles serving the oil and gas exploration and productivity industry. Access as normal and create an account in your own name with your university e-mail, validate against University domain and you retain full access
  • Qatar Digital Library - An archival digital collection of primary sources pertaining to Gulf Coast countries and regions, including Kurdistan – open access

·        Research4Life - Providing access to five database including AGORA; ARDI; GOALI; HINARI; and AORE.  For access please use your university e-mail to send a request for a username and password to the Director of Library, [email protected]

  • Wiley Online Library - Covering 1,500 journals and over 15,000 online books, and hundreds of multi-volume reference works, databases, and other resources digitised.

  • World Bank Data Catalog - here you can find world development indicators, financial indicators, development indicators, World Bank development projects and more – open access
