We are proud to announce that the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) School of Medicine has received full accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq (NCAMC), according to a decree signed by the president of NCAMC on April 23, 2025.
This significant achievement highlights the institution’s unwavering commitment to excellence in medical education and its continued growth as a leading centre for medical training.
The UKH School of Medicine is unique among other medical institutions in Iraq. Despite its relatively young age and its modest number of graduating cohorts, it has successfully achieved full accreditation from the NCAMC –an impressive accomplishment within such a short span of time.
This recognition speaks volumes about the dedication, hard work, and passion of both the faculty and students, as well as the institution’s rapid progress toward becoming a leader in medical education in the region.
The accreditation process involved a comprehensive evaluation by NCAMC, ensuring that the UKH School of Medicine meets the highest national and international standards for medical education. This includes rigorous assessments of curriculum quality, faculty qualifications, infrastructure, research capabilities, and student outcomes.
This prestigious accreditation reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students, and affirms that the UKH School of Medicine is among the leading medical institutions in the region. It also ensures that our graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to the healthcare sector both locally and globally.
We thank the NCAMC for their confidence and support, and we look forward to continuing our mission of providing world-class medical education and training for the next generation of healthcare leaders.
