About the Library
The University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) Library was established in September 2006. Its mandate to implement and maintain international standards and quality services to all users and to robustly support the delivery of academic courses through its services and products.
Today it is managed by professionally trained Librarians and a team of assistants. It is open twelve hours a day during semester time (generally eight hours a day outside semester time) to enable all students, faculty, staff and visitors every opportunity to have the greatest access to the Library’s resources.
While being rigorous in upholding the international laws for copyright, intellectual property and freedom of information, the Library has succeeded in building a solid academic collection with electronic access to millions of articles, research papers and leading journals.
The university is in the process of upgrading the Library Catalogue to increase the system’s robustness and user experience.
We are happy to announce that the First Phase of the upgrade is ready for use: The new features include:
• User friendly search page
• Search for materials with wider options
• Ability to access from outside the campus at http://libcatalogue.ukh.edu.krd/, this is best view on Chrome browser
We operate two types of Library service opening - semester and non-semester for our staff and students.
Semester hours – 8.00 a.m. – 8.00 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday weekly.
Non-semester hours – 9.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday weekly.
Library @ UKH Semester Break Hours - from Sunday 11th to Thursday 22nd February 2018 we are only open from 9.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. for the break between semesters 1 and 2. We resume our regular semester opening hours on Sunday, 25th Feb. 2018.
