Worked in the private sector for over eight years  in management and marketing roles for small and medium enterprises in the agri-food sector. This was followed by  eight years as a university lecturer at universities in Italy ,  teaching  in the realm of small and medium enterprise development. He has worked for over twelve  years as a micro, small and medium enterprise development specialist for an international organization (UN-FAO). He has worked extensively in  Africa, the Middle East  and Europe.
